What’s the story?

I’m Janice, and I am a veterinarian when my work shoes are on. Here, my dogs are companions and sofa hogs… fancy ribbons and wins are the added bonus! We title in conformation, dabble in rally and casual agility, travel throughout the Midwest, and enjoy spending time outside.
My journey towards the Collie breed was not easy, but I am so grateful that I’m here. I became involved in responsibly-bred dogs when my family adopted a retired Standard Schnauzer, then I acquired a German Pinscher to show. In brief, I learned the hard way the façade that some breeders use to take advantage of owners. From then on, I stood by the belief that all companion animals should embody an appropriate, safe temperament. Heartbroken, I did a 180 and turned to Collies. Dally joined us and healed my heart entirely.
Since then, I knew what kind of breeder to never be. Thus I am transparent, eager to guide newcomers, post all OFA health results, and make mindful selections for sound dogs. I value input from many breed mentors to seek progress, rather than stepping backwards.
I am highly involved in the Columbus Collie Club and am a member of the Collie Club of America and Collie Health Foundation. I will forever dedicate myself to learning and contributing to the characteristically good-natured, beautiful qualities of the Collie breed.
What are our goals & ethics?

I chose “Covenant” because I wanted to represent a commitment to beloved Collies in the show ring and in the home, everlasting relationships with puppy owners, and doing goodwill out of faith.
While Collies are a head breed, we work on the whole package: head virtues, movement, and delightful temperament! I continue learning the breed standard, go over dogs with Collie breeder judges, and read up on the strengths of CCA winners. Of course, health is critical (plus I am a veterinarian), so I complete and report required Collie-specific health test results.
While litters are infrequent here, as I will only breed to improve, I can promise that all puppies come from judicious selection and are raised on Puppy Culture with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) to set them up for success, happiness, and longevity. Quality over quantity.
